Most after-school clubs only cater for children of primary school age, but some will also take children from the first year or two of secondary school. The obvious advantage of accepting older children is that you fill empty places, and in an ideal world, they can act as mentors to the younger children. However, the disadvantage is that the dynamic of the club can be affected, and this can have a detrimental impact on all the children attending.
