Ofsted's Common Inspection Framework came into effect at the start of September 2015. The Common Inspection Framework is used for inspections of all Ofsted-registered 'educational' settings from nurseries, to schools to sixth form colleges, and is therefore also used for inspections of any out of school clubs on the Early Years Register. It replaces the previous guidance document: Framework for the regulation and inspection on the Early Years Register. Ofsted also published a new version of the Early years inspection handbook in September 2015.
In this article we take a look at the changes to the guidance for Ofsted inspectors that were introduced in September 2015, and highlight those which particularly affect out of school clubs.
